I have been doing karate since the age of 8 years old and received my black belt in 2015, and now 2nd Dan black belt. I have grown up training with karate and it is something I am always proud to say I do. I have competed at numerous tournaments throughout the duration of my time doing karate and now compete for my university team. I am very goal orientated when taking part in this sport as a healthy lifestyle choice.
I have completed my university degree in Psychology and currently undergoing my master’s degree at Queen Mary’s university of London studying mental health and psychological therapies. One day having the aspiration to become a clinical psychologist.
This sport has enhanced my mental wellbeing. In my spare time when I train with and interact with a diverse group of people, with differing needs, aspirations, and skills, this has taught me to adjust my teaching style. I incorporate principles of fighting karate in my everyday life for discipline & promoting better mental wellbeing
